SAAC competitions are centred on the objective that the game must maximize development opportunities to all players involved. All decisions made before, during and after games are with this in mind.
Referees play an important role as along with enforcing the Laws of the Game, they are vital to setting the tone of a match, and have a significant influence over the competition environment that our players are exposed to.
SAAC has published the following information in order to ease the transition of officials into our competition environment.
Overview
All SAAC participants are bound by our Code of Conduct. As well, are SAAC Members are responsible for the behaviour of their parents, players and staff during SAAC events. Match officials are encouraged to report any breaches of the Code to a SAAC representative or to the team coaches at the field. SAAC does not expect Match Officials to have to deal with any issues beyond the scope of the field of play.
Scheduling
All SAAC game assignments are handled by the OSA and/or hosting Districts. All games requiring officials will maintained in the Ref Centre.
SAAC will endeavour to provide schedules to assignors with as much lead time as possible. Please note that the schedule at www.academysoccer.ca is always the latest, so we strongly recommend you verify your assignments against the published schedule prior to your games.
Game Sheets
We ask that Match Officials arrive at the field at least 20 minutes prior to their first assigned game. Officials should collect two copies of the game sheet from each team.
SAAC expects all Game Sheets to be filled out completely and accurately.
